Your Native Village
Village life is quite natural and the
people in our villages live a very simple life. There life is ease-going. They wake
up early in the morning hearing with the melodious songs of birds.
In village people live in pollution free
environment. I live at -----------------, a small village in --------district. The
nearest tornis ----------------.
The small village is not connected by
railways. It is,however, connected by bus services with the city. There are
several muddy roads that wind up through the village. But the link road with
the national highway is a metalled one. Our village is flanked on the north by
the national highway and on the south by the river Meghna. The condition of the
muddy roads become worst during the rainy season. There are quite a few
concrete sky touching building, rests are small huts, thatched or tiled.
The population of the village is around
four thousand. People of different communities live here peacefully. There are Hindus,
Musims and Christians living here with good neighborly feelings. Most of the
inhabitants are agricultural farmers. Besides, there are some traders and
service holders also. There are many educated citizens in our village serving
as teachers, lawyers and doctors. Most of them live in towns and visit the
village during holidays.
The village offers many facilities to its
people. There are a postoffice, a charitable dispensary and a health care center
in the village. A high school for boys and another for girls serve the need of
the students. Village market meets our daily requirements. For bigger purchase,
we have to go to the nearby towns.
Our village is really beautiful. In autumn
it appears just like an island in the midst of the lush green sea. Vast green
fields stretch from the outskirts of the village to the horizon except on the
south where the river flows. However, during monsoon the village alleys become inaccessible.
But as good rain brings good crops, the villagers, who are mostly cultivators,
welcome heavy downpour during monsoon.
A village panchayet looks after the
interest of the villagers. There are also occasional “drama” to entertain us. The villagers all
feel for others and join hands to celebrate the religious festivals.
Life in our village is quite peaceful. The
villagers may not be well off, but they are simple and honest. They live in a
atmosphere of friendliness and cooperation sharing their joys and sorrows.
I love my village very much
